Abdominoplasty.

What this treatment entails:

After major weight loss or several pregnancies, there may be excess skin and subcutaneous tissue on various parts of the body. This excess tissue can be surgically removed.

Thanks to the technique know as the Avelar tummy tuck, this procedure can now be performed in most cases very gently and on an outpatient basis. This technique also greatly reduces postoperative risk.

The procedure usually takes place under local anaesthetic. First, the skin is freed from excess subcutaneous fatty tissue and then the excess parts of the skin are removed.

Other skin tightening options include radiotherapy, laser, dermabrasion, or Botox injections. The choice of technique depends very much on the problem, its localisation and extent.
